"Love" in Top Ten Music (1951-2016)

Last year on Valentine's Day, I posted twice on my blog: once on the occurrence of the word Valentine in songs from Billboard's year-end Top 30 charts (1951-2015), and once on references to saints in the same collection of music. In this post, I look at the word love in songs making up Billboard's year-end Top Ten charts (1951-2016). Of course, as I mentioned in an earlier post, love is a frequent word in pop music, but in this music video essay I present the top ten songs from the collection in terms of the density of variants of love in chunks of the song (e.g. love, loves, loved, lovely, loving, etc.). In other words, these are songs just dripping with the word love.

And a couple of bonuses from outside the collection:

This post could not have been put together without my friends Clayton Darwin and Betsy Barry and BRDi Tools.
